What the desk arranges
Most of our work happens at a kerbside, a terminal door or a venue entrance, so access is an operational question before it is a legal one. The arrangements below are standing - they are planned into the itinerary and confirmed in writing before travel, and there is no coordination fee for any of them.
- Vehicles
- Wheelchair-accessible vehicles with a ramp or lift, and step-free sedans with a transfer seat, in the cities we hold. We confirm the specific vehicle and its access method in writing before the day, rather than promising a category. Wheelchairs and mobility scooters travel with the passenger, not in a following car.
- Terminals and kerbsides
- Wheelchair assistance booked with the carrier and re-confirmed by us the day before, because a booked request is not the same as a met one. Where the airport allows it we meet the passenger at the door rather than at a desk, and we hold the kerbside so nobody is moved along while transferring.
- Companions, carers and animals
- A travelling companion, carer or personal assistant is planned into every leg - seat, room and car - at no coordination fee. Guide and service dogs are declared to carriers, hotels and venues in advance, with the paperwork each country wants, and a relief area found on arrival.
- Hearing, sight and communication
- Hebrew or English sign-language interpreters and live captioning arranged for meetings and events on notice. Itineraries sent as plain text or large print on request, and read aloud on the desk line. Deaf and hard-of-hearing clients can run an entire engagement by text message - the desk never requires a phone call.
- Medical, dietary and sensory needs
- Medication cold chains, oxygen clearances and equipment declarations handled with the carrier. Allergies and dietary requirements passed to every venue in writing and confirmed back by the kitchen. Quiet routes, low-stimulus rooms and a step-free path through a venue are planned rather than improvised on arrival.
- Itineraries
- Where access needs are on file, every itinerary is routed step-free and timed with transfers in mind, and each line names the access method - ramp, lift, door meet - so nothing depends on remembering a conversation.
Tell the desk the access need with the city and the date. If something we cannot supply is needed, we say so on the same call and name who can - we do not take an engagement we cannot hold.
How the site is built
- On-page controls
- The site is served in high contrast by default. The access button at the bottom-left of every page opens the accessibility controls: four text sizes, a switch to turn high contrast off, an option to underline every link, and a switch that stops all motion. The panel is operable by keyboard, closes with Escape, and your choices are remembered on this device until you reset them.
- Keyboard
- Every link, button, disclosure, figure and scrolling region is reachable and operable by keyboard, in reading order, with a 2px focus ring that meets contrast against both the dark and light planes. A skip link jumps to the main content, and nothing scrolled to by keyboard is left hidden behind the fixed bar at the top.
- Screen readers
- One h1 per page, headings in order, real landmarks, lists marked up as lists, decorative art hidden, and data figures that announce their own label, value and unit rather than reading as loose numbers.
- Motion
- The system reduced-motion setting is honoured throughout: the globe stops spinning, entrance reveals resolve instantly and smooth scrolling is switched off. The access panel and a control in the footer do the same for anyone who has not set that preference, and the choice is remembered.
- Contrast and colour
- Text and background pairs are fixed values checked against the 4.5:1 threshold (3:1 for large text), and interface parts such as hairlines and focus rings against 3:1. Every text node on every page was measured against its composited background, not sampled. No information is carried by colour alone.
- Zoom and reflow
- Content is readable at 200% zoom and at a 320px viewport width without horizontal scrolling or loss of content, survives text-only enlargement, and holds up under the WCAG text-spacing overrides.
- Text alternatives
- Photographs carry descriptions where they inform, and empty alternatives where they are decorative. The site does not use images of text.
- Targets and forms
- Controls are at least 24 by 24 pixels, and the primary ones at least 44 by 44. The site asks for nothing through a form and uses no CAPTCHA: the desk is reached by telephone or email.
You can stop every moving element on the site here:
- The desk answers by telephone on one number, 24 hours a day, and by email.
- Nothing on this site has to be completed online. Any request, quote or document can be handled entirely by phone if that is easier for you.
- Tell us the format you need - large print, plain text, or a spoken read-back - and the desk will send it that way at no charge.
- This statement is published in English. Call the desk and it will be read to you in Hebrew.
How this was checked
- Chromium with axe-core, every route, at 320, 390, 768 and 1280px - including with high contrast and the largest text size switched on
- A per-node contrast measurement across all routes, comparing each text colour against its actual composited background
- Keyboard-only traversal of every route in both the dark and light planes, checking focus order, visible focus and that focus is never obscured
- VoiceOver on macOS Safari, and NVDA on Windows Firefox, on the home, service, article and contact pages
- 200% browser zoom, text-only enlargement, and the WCAG 1.4.12 text-spacing overrides
- The site is published in English only. Call the desk and this statement, or anything else on the site, will be read to you in Hebrew.
- The rotating globe is a decorative illustration of the cities we hold. The same list is published as text beside it, and the globe can be stopped.
- Documents we send by email or on the secure channel come from third parties and are not always tagged for screen readers. Tell us and we will return the content in an accessible format.
